It’s been a while since I’ve updated on our Stellar adventure. It has been a whirlwind the past few weeks, filled with work, visiting family, and weddings. Steve’s best friend TJ got married this past Sunday at the coast, and to start the weekend, Steve’s parents Tom and Sherrie came by on their way to the wedding to see the house. It’s like playing a record again, but sweet sassy molassy, the construction workers are going fast. Last Friday (now a week ago), the plumbing and electrical wiring was completed, and all of the drywall was installed and ready for texture, and the driveway has been poured. We have a REAL DRIVEWAY!! And we measured it, and the truck will fit in the driveway. Hooray! Steve did a walk through with Tom, Sherrie and one of the builders representatives, and wow does it look good.
I haven’t actually seen the house for about 3 weeks, not since we took the trip to Florence. Steve and I are planning to go down this weekend to see what they’ve been up to this week, especially since I’m not sure what they will do next. At the beginning it was obvious what the next step was - build the frame, side the house, build the roof, put in plumbing, put in electrical, pour concrete, put up drywall. Now, after they do the texture on the walls, what goes in first? Flooring, cabinets, fixtures? It’s like putting together a puzzle, but this is the fun stuff to see go in. It’s already looking like a house, now we get all the stuff that makes it feel like a house.
IKEA must know we are working on furnishing a house - we got the 2008 catalouge in the mail yesterday. Tricky IKEA, playing with my emotions.
That’s our living room (with the view out to the backyard and the kitchen look through to the right) and our walk in closet! Click to make the pictures bigger.

Is that a arch in the kitchen look through? How cute. I’m excited to see the next phase!
