Well, the house construction has not slowed down one bit. The rest of the house, and garage, has been framed. Almost all of the windows have been installed, and siding is up on three sides of the house. Steve and I were confused when the front wasn’t being sided as well, but we realized they use a different style siding on the front. The front has more of a Craftsman style and more detailing, but they don’t do it all the way around the house to help keep the cost down.
When Steve stopped by yesterday, all of the roof trusses were sitting on top of the house ready to be installed. I’m sure that many of them went up today. We looked at the list of other houses to be constructed during the same phase ours is, and there is a full month between the finish of ours and the finish of the next on the list. Which means that they will probably only be working on our house for the next little bit.
Steve and I are getting very excited at how fast the house is going up, but it’s also a little nerve wracking! It’s such a huge thing in our lives, and it’s speeding ahead like a steam train. The rest of the summer is going to go by so fast, with my office being so busy getting students back to campus and going on vacation to Mexico the first week of September.
Look, it’s a garage! For TWO cars! (Don’t worry, we will uphold Moore tradition and still have another vehicle to park outside of the garage)

Okay, NOW I see the framing photos. This blog stuff is way outta my realm. (well, except those damn liberal blogs - hurray.)
